Names are used for identification. Whether it is used to single out one person from another, or to establish a character of one person from the majority, it usually sets up certain distinctiveness that sets someone or something apart from the rest – even in establishments, even in institutions, even in abortion clinics. Names of the last sample item in particular needs to be well-thought of. An abortion clinic is a place not everyone is still able to accept in the society. For some, it is deemed taboo – it is only right to keep it away from additional criticism and negative attention it already has – as much as possible. That can be subtly done through the careful selection of a clinic name.

What abortion clinics have you heard or seen so far recently? Which ones are doing well and which ones are not able to reach the market they wishfully target? Although this is only one factor, the names could have caused the clinics’ present state. Aside from quality service, what people look for in an abortion clinic is its capacity to create a bond or a relationship to its patients that is bound by trust and confidence. If a person sees the appearance of another person as his or her first basis for judgment, a pregnant woman, on the other hand – who plans to undergo abortion – sees names of clinic as her first basis in creating an opinion.

Insensitive

Some abortion clinic owners try to be unique in their name selection in the hopes of getting more attention from their target audience. What happens is that they end up getting names that are way too creative and inappropriate for a service center that tackles about insightful issues that women face (e.g. Birth Ctrl+Z, Baby-B-Gone, etc.). Now this could work well in other products and services, but it will never work in a field like this.
Insensitivity may trigger those who are advocating pro-life to fight more for what they believe in, and as much as possible, it does not need any more controversy than it is actually facing right now.

Commercialized

Others also focus more on the marketability of their services rather than the quality service they give to women who want to eliminate their pregnancies. Since women consist of the total target market, the marketing must also be done in a way that it encompasses women’s emotions and maternal or feminine instincts. Aside from technicalities, words like “care”, “love”, “aid”, “comfort” and “calm” also matter for female species. Take the above-mentioned words as inspiration and guide in naming an abortion clinic. The formula here is the combination of technicality and emotionality. Do not make commercialization the forefront tactic of your marketing plan, have a heart.

Unprofessional

Then it all boils down to professionalism. No woman would entrust her health and reputation to an abortion clinic that does not even magnet or demand trust from its target market. What we are talking about here is reputation. Give an abortion clinic that is worthy of respect and reliance. Make it sound reassuring and genuine. It’s the simplest yet most effective way.
